From the Director of Canadian Affairs

Good afternoon Brothers & Sisters,

As you know the federal budget will be tabled Monday April 19th around 4 pm EST. Further to our recent round tables and in particular our conversation with Minister Freeland, who challenged the Canada’s Building Trades Unions to push hard for our issues, we have recently launched a website making it easy for our membership to electronically send a letter to the government and their local MP. I recognize we do not have a lot of time but none the less feel it is important to start getting our members more engaged. This effort will also set us up for strong advocacy efforts during the next federal election.

Ahead of the Federal Budget to be unveiled next Monday, Canada’s Building Trades Unions are making a final push to the Government of Canada to include in the budget.

– Infrastructure Stimulus

– Community Benefits Agreements

– A skilled trades workforce mobility tax deduction

I encourage you to send the link below to all your members on social media, websites, newsletters, emails etc. Let’s see how many letters we can send to have input into the budget and mobilize our membership to make positive change! Please click on the website link and send a letter of your own. Goes directly to your MP.

 Thanks for your leadership.

 In Solidarity,
