A message from CBTU Executive Director Sean Strickland, urging Building Trades members, skilled tradespeople, and industry stakeholders to send a letter to the government asking them to follow through on their commitment to implement Investment Tax Credits and prevailing wage.Send a letter today! This is an important time for Canada’s skilled tradespeople because the government is holding consultations until Friday September 8th on the Investment Tax Credits introduced in the 2023 Budget earlier this year. The Investment Tax Credits for green technologies, proposed in the 2023 Budget, would offer financial incentives to employers to adhere to fair labour standards, including a strong definition of prevailing wage that would apply to union and non-union workers, and a requirement that at least 10% of work hours be performed by apprentices. We need your help. Show your support for our Brothers and Sisters, and all Canadian skilled tradespeople, by adding your name to our letter to the government before Friday September 8th asking them to implement the Investment Tax Credits and support workers and the industry as Canada moves toward net zero. Together, we can make the Investment Tax Credits a reality.
